living in your worst nightmare Chapter 1 pg 7
Ariel and I decided to forget about it. We showed mom and dad it and they saw it! But they took their sleeves and washed dust off. They said it was probably animals in the roof pounding dust down. So Ariel and I figured we would believe that and not be paranoid the rest of our lives. Janet, the exchange student, and I really got to know eachother. She said that she really likes America. She plays the piano we got her nonstop. She eats all we give her. Shes always outside in the woods. She calls her friends from home and they chat away in french so I Obviously can't evesdrop. But she is doing great in school. The teachers have a real liking to her. I wish I was that liked. But ever since the dream I haven't talked to any of the teachers. But I answer questions. My parents insisted about me being crazy when I told them about the dream and the pictures. "Hey guys! Come check out what I made!" Yelled Janet from in the woods. Ariel and I exchanged concerned yet excited looks and ran to where she was. There in the ground was a fifty feet down hole! With a ladder up it. Janet climbed down the ladder and I was next. Then came Ariel. "So that's where my lava lamp went! I've been looking for it." Said Ariel. Just then a black figure raced past us. We all let out high pitched shreiks. "What was that!?" I asked. "I-I don't know!" Yelled Janet. "Lets get out of here!" Yelled Ariel. She ran toward the ladder but it broke. Then dirt started to fling over us. "We're going to be burried alive!" Shreiked Janet. "No! No we won't! Dirt is solid! So when the dirt rises we climb up. It will involve getting dirty but it will save our lives." I said. So there we waited. The dirt up to our knees. Preparing for the messiest day ever or the last day of our lives.
